Pen #1 - CH4B Matte Black Shuttle Space Pen, Gold Accents
Back in 1967, after over two years of rigorous testing by NASA, the Space Pen was selected for use by the astronauts of Apollo 7 and has been used on all manned space flights since then. The Shuttle Space Pen is the next installment in our line of Astronaut pens; it was introduced during the Space Shuttle Program and is the current pen of choice for astronauts aboard the ISS today.
The Shuttle Pen is proudly produced in the USA! Each is made of solid brass with hard chrome plating. It’s thinner and lighter than its predecessor, the AG7, with a more modern appearance. It features a unique clicking mechanism that extends the point via the button on top, with a release button on the side to retract it. This side button has a substantial sound and feel, ensuring that you’ll always remember to retract the point before sliding the pen back into your pocket.
Pen #2 - 600BSH Matte Black Bullet Space Pen, Space Shuttle
When closed, the Bullet is the perfect size to carry in your wallet, pocket, purse, car glove box, organizer, or toolbox. When open, it’s a full-sized, evenly balanced writing instrument that performs in the most unique environments. Like all Fisher Space Pens, this pen will write in zero gravity, upside down, underwater, over oil and grease, in -30ºF to +250ºF, and three times longer than the average ballpoint pen. Whether you’re a trade professional, writer, teacher, artist, executive, or simply someone who appreciates a premium writing experience, this Space Pen is for you!
The original Bullet Space Pen was conceived in July of 1948 by Paul Fisher, who machined a new pen design shaped from solid aluminum. This became our first Fisher ballpoint pen, the #400 Bullet Pen, and arguably the most popular pen of the twentieth century. Today, this pen is made of solid brass with a chrome finish.
Cited as an outstanding example of industrial art, the classic design of the Fisher Bullet Pen holds a place in the permanent collection of the New York Museum of Modern Art. The Bullet’s timeless styling has been featured in art books and magazines. Often imitated but never duplicated, the Fisher Bullet Space Pen remains our most popular pen.
